Hi! I’m Ren and I became a meme on tumblr once. I am in my 20’s, autistic, otherkin, plural, transmasculine, and go by it/its or he/him pronouns! More info on things I am or am not okay with being called and how to use my pronouns here. I live in the Pittsburgh area with my lovely partner, Ghostie.
I’ve been drawing my whole life, but only started digital art around 2012. I had started learning it so that I could participate in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon fan content, despite being too shy to actually join. In 2013, I worked up the courage to start posting on deviantART, Tumblr, and Fur Affinity. In 2014, I had a depressive episode that resulted in me having an 8-month hiatus from drawing and social media until April 2015, but I feel like my style started coming together after I returned.
I would consider character design my strongest suit in art. I constantly have what feels like a never-ending stream of ideas for them, though my motivation to actually get them out of my head varies depending on the day. Sometimes I feel like I create so many characters that I can’t give them all enough love, but I’ve accepted that it’s still a good thing that I am so creative so frequently!
As for interests that aren’t just drawing and Pokemon, I happily consider myself a furry, and I don’t think I would be remotely the same person today without the subculture. In addition, I am a huge fan of Rayman (2, Origins, and Legends), Viva Piñata, Kid Icarus Uprising, A Hat in Time, and Etrian Odyssey. I apologize in advance if you reach out to me and I am hard to get ahold of. I deal with mental health issues that cause me to be skittish and forgetful, and I get many messages from many different people daily. (I also sometimes strain my hands and/or wrists too much.) I try my best despite this, but it can be hard sometimes.

- I love your characters! Can I draw them as a gift, or commission someone else for them as a gift?
- SFW art, yes, of course, though some characters might have warnings to ask first before drawing them! Regarding NSFW art, please tell your idea to me first, even if I know you I need to approve it or else I will not be comfortable with it.
- I saw someone else using art of one of your characters!
- Please don’t hassle them, check with me first so I can verify. Sometimes I let close friends who are really into my characters use them with permission, or the character is actually the sona of one of my alters with social media.
- Can I add you on Discord/Telegram?
- Please ask first, I will probably say no if we haven’t talked before. I prefer Discord over Telegram because the latter’s read receipts unnerve me.
- I’m trying to get better about it, but I generally don’t really reach out that often in DMs. I get a lot of messages daily and tend to expend social energy on answering them.
- If we haven’t talked in a while and we’re on good terms, I’m definitely up for chatting again! If we weren’t, it might depend on the reason we had the falling-out in the first place – if it was meaningless old drama I’m probably willing to look past it, but if you took advantage of me and my loved ones and/or sent me death threats please stay out of my life.
- Can we be friends?
- It depends! Friendship happens naturally for me. I try to be kind to everyone, but you can’t expect a close relationship out of me. If you make assumptions that we’re close, or ask if we can be friends quickly after meeting me, you are liable to make me uncomfortable and scare me off.
- Why am I blocked?
- Please don’t ask me this. I block a LOT of people on social media. Reasons may include, but are not necessarily limited to: being a minor, purity movement advocacy, pedo/zoophilia advocacy, conservative politics, complete accident, and simply thinking our personalities would clash after seeing you around. Don’t worry about it too much, there’s plenty of other people out there, I’m just one guy and it’s not the end of the world if we won’t get along.

- What cons do you go to?
- I will always go to AnthroCon every year because I live close enough to it (barring major complications with my health or the con itself), and travel to Anthro New England (or Midwest Fur Fest) when financially able. In the future, I’d love to go to more, but I can’t quite see myself making it over to one for the time being. Maybe I’ll be able to travel more when I get a tech job, and there’s less global pandemics to worry about?
